Damascus Middle School Celebrates an All-American Spirit Week

Damascus Middle School celebrated an “All-American” Spirit Week with Holston High School’s theme of “Life, Liberty, & the Pursuit of the Cavalier.”  Students dressed up all week, as All-American Heroes and tacky tourists and in red, white, and blue.  On Friday, students stood “United as Cavaliers,” proudly wearing red and black!  Representatives from each grade level worked diligently all week preparing their decorations for their pod entryway, and the results definitely displayed “American Originality.”  Eighth grade won the pod entryway contest with their Hollywood red carpet entrance!  The seventh and eighth grades tied in the spirit contest, with 86% of students dressing up over the course of the week, and sixth grade was right behind with 85%.  Spirit King and Queen for each grade were as follows:  Carson B. and Maggie O. (eighth grade); Dylan T. and Jordan L. (seventh grade); and Jonathen W. and Madison S. (sixth grade).  The week concluded with a Homecoming Dance sponsored by the Student Council Association (SCA).
