Damascus Middle School Gets into the Spirit of the Season!

Damascus Middle School students, faculty, and staff are filled with the spirit of the season!  On December 5, our bands and choir presented their Holiday Concert at Holston High School.  DMS musicians entertained the audience with the beautiful sounds of “African Bell Carol” and “Winter Carol” as well as the fun beats of “Santa, What a Guy,” and “Mr. Grinch,” under the direction of Mr. Bob Ballengee and Mr. Logan Childress (band directors) and Mrs. Sue Spirup, choral music director.  Each Friday, faculty and staff have participated in Fat Friday, in which we treat each other to a delicious lunchtime spread.  In addition, our Student Cooperative Association (SCA) has continued their annual tradition of Secret Santa, sponsored a school-wide dance, and held an “Ugly Christmas Sweater” contest.  The winners of the contest were as follows:   Makaylee R., Alex S., Noah S., Ashley S., Mia T., Nevaeh T., and Seth W.  Finally, our sixth-grade chorus exploratory class, composed of Matthew B., Emily C., Julia C., Caleb C., Hyder F., Justin P., Jaylee P., Alex S., and Ethan S., under the direction of Mrs. Sue Spirup, presented an upbeat concert on Monday, December 18!  We are definitely ready for the holidays!
