Damascus Middle School Student Stands Up Against Bullying

After Damascus Middle School eighth-grader Cheyenne G. witnessed an incident of bullying, she decided to try to do something about it. She says, “I wanted to make a difference in how people view other people.  I wanted to help others with their self-worth.”  So, she purchased supplies and spent several hours of her time making uplifting posters to place around the school.  Using ideas she found online, she covered the posters with bits of advice such as, “Don’t ever doubt your self-worth…you are perfect the way you are,” and sayings like, “Your value doesn’t decrease based on someone’s inability to see your worth.”  The posters have certainly brightened the halls at DMS, and Cheyenne’s goal is that they will brighten at least one person’s day!
