Damascus Middle School Students Awarded in 4-H “Share the Fun” Programs
Damascus Middle School 4-H members held their annual “Share the Fun” talent program during their regular December club meeting. Almost forty members from the sixth, seventh, and eighth grades performed. Talent acts included instrumental, variety, drama, dance, and vocal. During “Share the Fun,” each contestant had four minutes to perform in either an individual or team act. The youth were awarded points in the following areas: chosen material, talent, audience response, creativity, showmanship, and their costume and props. The 4-H “Share the Fun” program builds self-esteem, communication skills, and creativity, while giving members a chance to show off their special talents. The following students were awarded blue ribbons in their categories: in combination, Emma B., Sydney B., Tahlor M., Kennedy M., Bailey P., Rylee S., and Molly T.; in drama, Hunter B., Raelin B., Walker H., Lauren M., and Noah S.; in instrumental, James D. and Maggie M.; in variety, Carter N. and Matthew S.; in vocal, Emily C., Skye H., and Haley M. These blue ribbon winners may represent Damascus Middle School at the county competition in March. Mrs. Crystal Peek is the 4-H sponsor at Damascus Middle School.
