Damascus Middle School Students Awarded in Dramatic Reading

Damascus Middle School 4-H members recently competed in the Dramatic Reading contest.  Twenty-eight club members performed pieces from their choice of literature and were awarded points for introducing the piece, tone and emphasis, speed and rhythm, facial expression, and body language.  The purpose of the dramatic reading program is to build better oral language skills when communicating to a group.  Blue-ribbon winners were as follows:  Angelina A., Madison B., Felicity B., Dillon B., Raelin B., Taylor C., James D., Kay Leigh H., Gabe H., Audra H., Claire H., Julia J., Haley M., Tahlor M., Maggie M., Lauryn M., Lily P., Athen S., Noah S., Amanda S., Dustin S., Mia T., Lexi W., and Jonathen W.  Red-ribbon winners were Katherine G., Kendel H., John M., and Carter N.  Blue-ribbon winners may represent DMS at the county competition in March.
