Damascus Middle Students Awarded in 4-H Presentation Contest

On February 13, 2018, Damascus Middle School 4-H members held their annual Presentation and Public Speaking program.  This program builds self-esteem, communication skills, and leadership, while giving members a chance to explore their interests and hobbies.  Twenty-three members presented their knowledge of, or demonstrated their skill in, a variety of topics, including the economics of buying and selling tennis shoes, the method of preparing an omelet, and caring for animals. The following members were awarded with blue ribbons:  Angelina A., Chanzy B., Matthew B., Angel C., Karleigh D., James D., Zoe E., Hyder F., Katherine G., Haley M., Lily P., Madeline S., Alex S., Noah S., Amanda S., Martina S., Rylee S., Isabelle S., Boone T., Mia T., and Jonathen W., Seth W., and Lucia W. These students may represent DMS at the Washington County 4-H Activity Day on April 14 at Abingdon High School.
