DMS’s Sixth-Grade Chorus Exploratory Class Takes Us “Around the World”

On Wednesday, April 3, students in Mrs. Spirup’s sixth-grade chorus exploratory class at Damascus Middle School presented their culminating program, “Around the World.”  The students began the program with a folk song from England, traveled to France with the round “Frere Jacques,” continued to Israel, Vietnam, Liberia, Australia, Bolivia, and Trinidad with various traditional and folk tunes, and concluded the program with a beautiful rendition of “What a Wonderful World.”  Performers were Adia A. (soloist), Cole C., Matthew C., Brandon E., Gabe F., Andrew G. (soloist), Jared H., Bryce L., Alex L. (soloist), Parker L., Sadie L., Levi S., and Carley T. (soloist).  Mrs. Spirup encouraged these talented singers and other students in the audience to continue participating in music programs in the future.  Music can truly take us around the world!
