On Tuesday, February 4, Damascus Middle School eighth-grade students visited the Washington County Career and Technical Education Center. Each year, the CTE Center hosts eighth graders from across Washington County, providing students with a first-hand look at the wonderful opportunities available to them in the future! While students were on the CTE campus, they were divided into small groups and given a tour of the facilities, visiting a variety of different classes/workshops, including automotive repair, CISCO networking, computer-aided drafting, cosmetology, culinary arts, advertising design, welding, and others, including new programs in sports medicine and engineering. Ms. Joy Munsey, CTE Center Assistant Principal, visited Damascus Middle School the following week to follow up with the students, answering any questions they may have had after their time at the CTE Center. These opportunities provided our students with a better understanding of the programs available to them as they enter high school next year!
