DMS Sixth Graders Surpass their Goal to Support a Worthy Cause

The sixth-grade class at Damascus Middle School recently participated in a St. Jude Math-A-Thon fundraiser.  Initially, the students set a $1,000 goal, but after quickly surpassing it, they voted to increase their goal to $3,000.  We are proud of our students for raising $3,686 to support such a worthy cause! St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital has treated children from all 50 states, pushing the overall childhood cancer survival rate to more than 80 percent.  St. Jude families never receive a bill for treatment, travel, housing, or food. The DMS sixth-grade Math-A-Thon coordinator is Mrs. Melissa Childress.
