Damascus Middle Students Awarded in 4-H Presentation Contest

Damascus Middle School 4-H members held their annual Presentation and Public Speaking program. Sixteen members from the sixth through eighth grades competed in the competition. Each contestant had five minutes to complete his/her oral presentation or illustrated talk. The youth were awarded points in seven areas, as follows: appearance, introduction, subject matter, presentation, summary, achievement of purpose, and questions. The 4-H Presentation program is targeted to build self-esteem, communication skills, and leadership while giving members a chance to explore interests and hobbies. The following blue ribbon winners are eligible to represent Damascus Middle School at the Washington County 4-H Activity Day on April 30 at Abingdon High School: Kasey B., Autumn C., McKenzie C., Cheyann D., Abi G., Hunter H., Aiden L., Kaden L., Payton L., Mason M., Jazlynn M., Audrey O., Lydia R., Brody T., Lily T., and Caroline W.
