DMS Students Named Junior Washington County Community Scholars

On Friday, April 22, 2022, ten students from Damascus Middle School were recognized as Junior Washington County Community Scholars for their community service, scholarship, attendance, and citizenship. These students were Sophie M., Esme A., Chloe D., Brody T., Eli T., Kasey B., Eden D., Abigail G., Audrey O., and Laken T. They joined with the community scholars from Glade Spring Middle School and traveled to Bristol to enjoy a treat at Blackbird Bakery, face an Escape Room challenge, and have lunch at Bella’s. Each year, DMS Guidance Counselor Kimberly Holmes encourages students to participate in the Jr. Washington County Community Scholars program, as community service, good attendance, scholarship, and citizenship are traits valued by colleges and future employers. Students who participate in this program in middle school begin positive habits that will contribute to their future success.
