DMS Holds Last Club Meetings for the Year

On Thursday, April 21, students at Damascus Middle School enjoyed their last club meeting of the year. During the meeting time, the SCA, sponsored by Mrs. Blackburn and Mrs. Caywood, worked together to create posters of inspirational and humorous memes to hang throughout the building as encouragement for students as they prepared for SOL testing. The Cooking Club, sponsored by Mrs. Mossholder and Mrs. Deaton, prepared pizza snacks and learned some easy recipes to make at home over the summer. The Cavs Care Club, sponsored by Mrs. Holmes and Mrs. Cox, made goody bags for eighth-grade students to let them know they will be missed. The Technology Club, sponsored by Mr. Kennedy, held its annual CO2 car races, in which any student who built a CO2 car in Technology class could race. Seventh-grader Jacob H. was the winner with sixth-grader Phoebe P. coming in second place! These are just a few examples of the activities DMS students participated in through clubs this year. After a year without the opportunity  to participate in clubs, this experience has been particularly meaningful!
